Luther had his 2 month check-up and shots today. Poor thing, he got 3 shots in his legs. He has been screaming in pain off and on. James and I have been passing him back and forth and trying to keep Tylenol in him. I hope he feels better soon, because it break my heart to see him in pain like this. He weighed 11 lbs & 1 oz !! He had gained 1 lb & 7 oz in just 2 weeks!! I knew he had really been growing because he grew out of newborn diapers last week and I had to move him up to size 1’s. Also, he is finally fitting into some of his 0-3 months clothes. He was 22 ½ inches long, so he has also grown ½ inch in 2 weeks. Our pediatrician was proud to tell us that he is now in the 50th percentile. Because of all of his feeding problems, he was only in the 3rd percentile when we took him to see her the very first time. We are getting really excited about Christmas. We had our community group Christmas party this week. I made wassail & pistachio cookies, which always helps me get in the holiday spirit. I have been singing Christmas songs to Luther everyday. He loves for me to sing to him. Poor thing, he must be tone deaf like his daddy!! I finished all of my Christmas shopping and actually have all of my presents wrapped too. We have lots of family coming this weekend and some have not seen Luther yet. James has his last exam tomorrow. We are really looking forward to his 2 week break. I have a “honey do list” I have been saving up for him!

Looks like Luther is a bit of a ham when he sees a camera! He's adorable. I'm very excited to hear how much he has grown! I can't believe he's already 2 months old. It really doesn't seem like it has been that long. Can't wait to see you all.

#3 due in July

We found out a week ago that i am pregnant. sometime in july, we am going to have 3 kids, 3 and under!! i am sure most out there think i am crazy(that ok, i am), but we are really excited. james and i have both always wanted a big family and with #3 on the way we see God making our dreams reality. luther is thrilled and is already wanting to know if he can hold the baby when he/she is born and if the baby can sleep with him in his "big boy bed". we actually were going to try to keep our news on the down low for a little while, but luther has done a good job of making that impossible. so, we gave up keeping it a secret. i have my first ultrasound the end of the month, so i will know an exact due date then. i am about 7 weeks now and not sick yet. please join me in praying that will last as long as possible. i was pretty sick with my other two, but better with pearl than luther, so i have hope this could go even smoother. pearl on the other hand seems to be very u...

Kids’ Update

We love Ethiopia! Celebrating the end to a 20 year war with Eritrea and the blessing of the new Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed!     I'm writing from the middle of our 3rd rainy season here in Ethiopia.  We have now lived here for 2 years and 7 months and are looking forward to our 3rd trip back to the US in 2 months. It can be very challenging living here, but we are ALL thankful to be here and to get to see what God is doing in Ethiopia.  I am realizing more and more that homeschooling has been such a blessing for our family.  It has helped our kids deal with the transition of moving to Ethiopia and of living cross culturally with minimal problems.  They are really thriving. Each child has their own challenges but they're small compared to what they could be.
