Doctor's appt

so i went to my doctor's appt today at 3pm. they hooked me up to the monitors and said pearl is doing great and tolerating the contractions well. then the doctor checked me and i have not dilated at all!! i am so bummed. so now i am back at home still having contractions. i really hope this is not a repeat of luther's birth- contractions for 3 days without any dilatation!! everyone pray for my cervix to OPEN!!! the doctor i saw today was very c-section happy and i left the appt very upset and irritated. oh, when i got home my base cabinets were finished being installed in my kitchen. there is a 4 inch strip around the bottom of them where there is no tile. we are going to have to somehow patchwork tile at there base. i am worried it is going to look horrible.

And I'm sending "hurry up and open up, cervix, and let that baby out" thoughts your way. =)

#3 due in July

We found out a week ago that i am pregnant. sometime in july, we am going to have 3 kids, 3 and under!! i am sure most out there think i am crazy(that ok, i am), but we are really excited. james and i have both always wanted a big family and with #3 on the way we see God making our dreams reality. luther is thrilled and is already wanting to know if he can hold the baby when he/she is born and if the baby can sleep with him in his "big boy bed". we actually were going to try to keep our news on the down low for a little while, but luther has done a good job of making that impossible. so, we gave up keeping it a secret. i have my first ultrasound the end of the month, so i will know an exact due date then. i am about 7 weeks now and not sick yet. please join me in praying that will last as long as possible. i was pretty sick with my other two, but better with pearl than luther, so i have hope this could go even smoother. pearl on the other hand seems to be very u...

Kids’ Update

We love Ethiopia! Celebrating the end to a 20 year war with Eritrea and the blessing of the new Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed!     I'm writing from the middle of our 3rd rainy season here in Ethiopia.  We have now lived here for 2 years and 7 months and are looking forward to our 3rd trip back to the US in 2 months. It can be very challenging living here, but we are ALL thankful to be here and to get to see what God is doing in Ethiopia.  I am realizing more and more that homeschooling has been such a blessing for our family.  It has helped our kids deal with the transition of moving to Ethiopia and of living cross culturally with minimal problems.  They are really thriving. Each child has their own challenges but they're small compared to what they could be.
