Meemaw today





Meemaw was actually discharged from the hospital on Thursday. She had a brain tumor removed on Monday morning and was discharged from the hospital on Thursday!!! what a miracle. she is really pretty much back to her old self. she is a little weak from her 2 week hospital stay, so she will be staying with my aunt for a little while. but, she is doing amazingly well. they had to shave her whole head between putting the shunt in and removing the tumor. i think that she looks so cute. with her big brown eyes, i told her she looks like demi moore in GI Jane. so pearl's bladder being healed was miracle #1 and now meemaw is miracle #2. well, yesterday my mom left my house to go back home. she called me about an hour later very upset. she had been rear ended on the interstate and her van went out of control. the miracle is that she is ok and is only sore today. luther and i rushed to go get her as soon as she called. her van was pretty messed up and i am sure it is totalled. she came back home with us and then my dad was able to come pick her up last night. she was pretty shaken up, but PRAISE THE LORD she is ok. the thing that i can't figure out is with all of this stress how i have not gone into labor yet. last night was a full moon, so i was slightly hopeful but nothing happened. it did at least motivate me to pack a bag for the hospital. james is still working crazy hours and they should get better starting Aug 1st when he starts a different rotation. the Lowes people are suppose to be coming to install my kitchen cabinets this Thursday and Friday. i will still not have counter tops or a kitchen sink, but at least i will have a place to put all of the kitchen stuff and food that is all over the place and driving me crazy. the doctor i have been seeing is going out of town next week and will be gone until July 30th. i guess these are all reasons that it is a good thing that pearl is staying put for now. i am just really sick of being pregnant and ready to see my baby girl.

You do realize that since your doctor will be out of town next week that you will probably go into labor next week, right? At least that's the way things usually seem to go. Sounds like your family has been through a lot lately. I hope things start improving! We love you guys!

I second what Eryn said; Pearl's birthday will probably be the 31st.

I know what you are saying about the full moon; I was hoping it would hurry Hannah out...oh well.

#3 due in July

We found out a week ago that i am pregnant. sometime in july, we am going to have 3 kids, 3 and under!! i am sure most out there think i am crazy(that ok, i am), but we are really excited. james and i have both always wanted a big family and with #3 on the way we see God making our dreams reality. luther is thrilled and is already wanting to know if he can hold the baby when he/she is born and if the baby can sleep with him in his "big boy bed". we actually were going to try to keep our news on the down low for a little while, but luther has done a good job of making that impossible. so, we gave up keeping it a secret. i have my first ultrasound the end of the month, so i will know an exact due date then. i am about 7 weeks now and not sick yet. please join me in praying that will last as long as possible. i was pretty sick with my other two, but better with pearl than luther, so i have hope this could go even smoother. pearl on the other hand seems to be very u...

Kids’ Update

We love Ethiopia! Celebrating the end to a 20 year war with Eritrea and the blessing of the new Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed!     I'm writing from the middle of our 3rd rainy season here in Ethiopia.  We have now lived here for 2 years and 7 months and are looking forward to our 3rd trip back to the US in 2 months. It can be very challenging living here, but we are ALL thankful to be here and to get to see what God is doing in Ethiopia.  I am realizing more and more that homeschooling has been such a blessing for our family.  It has helped our kids deal with the transition of moving to Ethiopia and of living cross culturally with minimal problems.  They are really thriving. Each child has their own challenges but they're small compared to what they could be.
